Biography

Before coming to the Academies @ Englewood, I used to be a sociology instructor and graduate student at Rutgers University in New Brunswick, where in 2002 I received a Ph.D. degree in sociology. My primary research interests at Rutgers included religion and Asian studies. After my graduation, I spent the 2002-03 school year as a Fulbright Junior Scholar in Taiwan, where I studied Chinese language at National Taiwan University in Taipei.

I have been a social studies teacher at the Academies @ Englewood since 2004, where I also serve as the advisor for the Ultimate Frisbee Club, Asian Club, and B.A.S.I.C. ("Brothers and Sisters in Christ"). In my free time, I enjoy visiting national parks, hiking, mountain biking, and watching the TV show Criminal Minds and James Bond movies.
